BREMERTON PEACE RALLY - SEPTEMBER 24
6:00 PM corner of Wheaton Way and Riddell
Join Sound Peace and Justice and Kitsap for Peace for and after the Seattle Answer March and Rally.
We will meet to catch the 10:15am ferry to go to Seattle to participate in the March that starts at Westlake at 12:00.
We will return on the 4:20 ferry and procede to the intersection of Wheaton Way and Riddell R. for a local rally and demonstration
at 6:00pm.
The greater majority of American people do not want to be in a war. Our legislators and leaders have not listened to us.
This September 24th we will join in the United for Peace and Justice Call to Action to demand that we be listened to and that
it is time to END THE WAR, BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW! In Washington D.C. there will be a three days of mass actions to call
for PEACE NOW, with a Festival for Peace and Justice, a Massive March and Rally, a Cease fire Concert, an interfaith prayer
service, a grassroots Lobby Day, and a Civil Disobedience Action surrounding the White House...
...and a Demonstration and Peace Rally here in your neighborhood. Say No! to more war. In the face of heartbreaking
disaster, our government has proven that it is time to take care of business at home. It is with deep regret that we, the
public have learned too late that New Orleans and the victims of Hurricane Katrina are the latest casulties of an unwanted
war. It is time to BRING OUR TROOPS HOME, NOW!
CINDY SHEEHAN SUPPORT VIGILS
Join Puget Sound area concerned citizens in supporting the work that Cindy Sheehan has begun. Speak out for PEACE! Demand
that we bring our troops home now. No one should have to die in a war for oil and profit.
Wednesday Night Vigil for Cindy Sheehan
7:00 pm
Corner of Kitsap Mall Blvd and Randall Way
near TARGET store in Silverdale

HANFORD PEACE WALK
Posted: January/13/2005 at 11:51am | IP Logged Quote Gilberto
Greetings,
The Bainbridge Island Sangha will initiate a pilgrimage for world peace from Hanford, Washington to the Bangor Submarine
Base in Poulsbo, Washington. Hanford, Washington is the location where the plutonium was manufactured and used in the Nagasaki
atomic bomb, and where Yakama Natives and neighbors are still affected from the nuclear waste site of radiation sickness.
The Hanford Walk-'Nagasaki to Hope' will begin on July 16th, 2005 and ends August 7th, at the Bangor Submarine Base.
The pilgrimage (peace walk) will be a prayer walk in chanting the prayer for world peace Nu Mu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo. The
peace walk is open to all who are sincere in extinguishing the violent fire that would result from nuclear annihilation.
Our Buddhist order performs nonviolent walks all around the world as a gentle movement where people of all faiths are spiritually
united in realizing a world of peace.
We have a tentative route and this may modify as to locations of overnight stays and distances walking verses car portage/transportation.
Since the walk will end on or close to Hiroshima/Nagasaki day at Ground Zero. Accommodations, logistics, etc for the final
days preparations will come from Ground Zero supporters. This walk is co-sponsored with Ground Zero. This is our first organized
peace walk from the Bainbridge Island temple of major importance. Ground Zero and our inter-relationships are for nuclear
disarmament and the abolishment of all wars.
We have no funds, only prayers and friends willing to help with the particulars in making this walk succeed toward world
peace. How, why, and where the organizations of hosts, food, and overnight stays has not yet manifested. We have stayed at
churches, parks, gymnasiums, and even religious schools at other walks for peace. We usually have someone who has some medical
knowledge walk with us and taking care of mostly blisters and sprained ankles. We generally walk between 12 and 18 miles
a day, and a rest every tenth day. The walk will take between 18 and 21 days to complete depending on accommodations and special
events along the way organized by hosts. The host also selects and coordinates the overnight location, and start and end of
section route, and possible events for the particular section on the walk. We begin our walk at 6 am with morning prayers
for about 30 minutes with prayers from interfaith walkers.
We always have support vehicles with food and camping gear, backpacks, water, etc. Sometimes the vehicles go ahead to
the next stop and set up the evening site. We may also have walkers from other countries, as is the usual in walks of this
magnitude. Please feel free to sign-up or e-mail for further details of the peace walk.

A Progressive Peace Rally
Wow, what a fantastic event this turned out to be. About
35 people turned out in Bremerton at 9:00 for vigiling, songs, some silliness, and to exspress our desire for peace.
We then progressed at 10:00 to Suquamish to join the North end Rally, where we met with peace workers from all over Puget
Sound - Pt Townsend, Bainbridge, Silverdale, Bremerton, Port Orchard, etc.. Then, at 11:00 over a hundred of us went to the
Bainbridge ferry to progress to the Rally in Seattle.
